I think like most other founder members of this board, I was never a fan of the red kit and would have preferred blue but didn't see it as a huge obstacle to my enjoyment and watching of the City. In fact I was grateful to Tan for pumping money into the Club and making us successful initially.
However, I think there has been a wind of change blowing through the Club this season whereby previously moderate supporters are wondering what the hell the powers that be at the Club (i.e. Tan presumably) are doing. Now the feelgood factor has gone, it would be so easy to say that a change back to blue is on the way to bring 99% of supporters back into the fold (the former 'in crowd' will never be happy until they are back 'in').
Consequently I have been disappointed with the pig headed refusal to consider any form of compromise. Sadly, today's kit is almost the last straw. An away game against a team wearing red is the perfect time to turn out a team in blue to cheer up over 1,000 supporters who paid good money to travel to Bournemouth at an expensive time of year. What did they get? - All white with red trim!! I really think that was taking the proverbial and raising two fingers to supporters.
I have been watching the team a long, long time but are now feeling more disillusioned than I have ever been - I was around when we near the bottom of the Football League but it was still fun and it was my team. Sadly, I don't really feel like that any more and have been going less and less this season. I spoke to a friend today who is also a very long standing supporter and his comment to me was 'I'm losing interest, the Club is dying on its feet'.
It's all rather sad.

I thought the pledge was to wear blue whenever possible this season and, as you say, there was no reason not to do so today. It is a stretch too far to claim a colour clash because of the black stripes.

No doubt, the third kit was planned much earlier, but it is still another dose of red, when that is the last thing the club needs. I doubt we will see Mr Tan at a game this season.

Ok Red, we need to meet somewhere dark and dingy to grumble and plot. Your place or mine?

I think online is fine, if I'm perfectly honest quite a few of you showed too much interest in my private parts for me to be too comfortable in person Today's Kit 692773407

Could the change for that game be to do with the contractual agreement between the club and kit manufacturer? Where the cub are compelled to wear each kit a certain number of times per season.

A sensible solution, but you can't argue we wear our third kit way, way, way more than any other club does. I can't see any explanation beyond Tan being one of the most frustratingly stubborn men I've ever met.

Can I just hold my hand up to point out the irony of a club being so concerned about colour clashes despite having changed its strip to red, one of the the most common colour in British football, only a few seasons ago?

And I don't know about you, but I'd have to down many, many, many pints before I stared mixing up black and blue. About as many as Id have to drink before I started mixing up Real Madrid and Cardiff too...

Oh and, by the way. Ipswich played in blue away against Bournemouth, just three weeks ago.

Absolute rubbish!

Pointed out on another board that we don't have a contract with a kit manufacturer this season, as the kit produced in house by Cosway Sports, owned, of course by Vincent Tan.

The reason the white kit was worn is pretty obvious, the Club launched the 3rd limited edition white kit on Saturdsy.
No ulterior motives in the decision.
