I try not be too analytical about it. Maybe it is partly due to previous disappointing tournaments but i have found this World Cup enjoyable. Maybe individual matches from previous tournaments HAVE been better but all i know is i have rarely been bored this time around - even in a lot of the tight 0-0's which have gone to extra time.
I think it needs to end with a flourish though. Hopefully the final will be one to remember

Ive enjoyed this world cup partly because ive won a few hundred quid off various bets, and I do like watching extra time penalties, (would've saved time if golden goal was still around) I thought England would've got further but it werent to be,

I haven't watched as many games as in the past, but what I have seen, particularly in the group round, were very enjoyable.
I was pleased that I watched Brazil v Germany last night, as I think it was a little piece of history in the making. It will be interesting to see what happens within Brazilian football following that display. Scolari's obviously limited team and tough tactics were well & truly found out.........

I think a lot of people turned against Brazil after they spent 90mins kicking Colombia - a good footballing side - up in the air. There is no question that were the beneficiaries of some extremely generous refereeing too.
For all those Brazilians crying last night I have little sympathy.

You can only really judge it on the World Cup's that you've seen, and on that basis this is the best World Cup that I can remember by some distance (1998, 2002, 2006, 2010).

Trying not to sound up my own a**e, but the 'more goals must mean more fun' argument is a little flawed. I would argue that seeing a game that ends 1-0 but is filled with desperate goalmouth scrambles is more entertaining than seing a team thump someone 6-0.

In comparison with what had gone before in this World Cup, The Argies v The Cloggers was most disappointing. Gave it until half time, but couldn't keep my eyes open...........
