Not a rumour, but Sqwauka have devoted a whole article as to explaining why he is good enough for a champions league chasing team.

He offers very little if you require him to do more than break up the opposition's play and hit simple passes. He doesn't do much in the opponents half either. But as everyone has said, if he has quality attackers around him his frailties wouldn't have been exposed in the same way they were this season as he is a good anchor man. Not a player for a top Champions League team however

I think he's being quite harshly treated by some on here.
He's a very good player. You don't get praise from the likes of Xavi for being average.
Maybe we didn't play to his strengths, maybe he lost interest, maybe we'll miss him when he's gone (we certainly looked poorer when he wasn't playing).

I used to say the same thing about Jose Mourinho, then he recommended Cornelius...

Well if we sign Jack Collison and let Medel go for £11m, I'd say that's good business
