Pardew hasn't been very magnanimous in defeat, saying Cardiff were exactly as he expected. Bizarre really that he expected to lose:

Some good player ratings in the WoS though;

1) Marshall 7

2) Super Kev 7
3) Declan 9
4) Turner 7
5) Huds 8

6) Cowie 7
7) Gunns 8
8) Whitts 7
9) Kim 8
10) Odemwingie 7

11) Cornelius 7

It will be interesting to see who partners Caulker against West Ham next week after Hudson's performance yesterday.

Taylor is getting embarrassed by an 18 year old, he should have his head in his hands.

We might of been a bit harsh on Cornelius too. Not much goal action from him but apparently his link up play was excellent.

I think everyone is trying to impress OGS to stay in the squad so it will be interesting to see who plays just as well when things settle down - it's a win-win really....with new signings already in the pipeline the existing squad will be crapping themselves and upping their game - just in time for the big matches

I think also it's a question of morale.

That was in danger of going down the pan, but the new regime and the prospect of playing proper football will have given everybody a real lift.......

The win yesterday in a game that some people had written off as irrelevant can have done nothing but good.
