As an aside to this, it is little unfair to single out Cowie..........he's never given less than 100% effort and has been a real asset to the side. If anyone deserved a chance at the PL, it was Don Cowie.......and maybe Craig Conway!

I don't understand the obsession with highlighting his limitations, when his assets far outweigh them. Like the rest of the squad, he's been a victim of poor tactics.

Yep, Cowie had a good run in the side and I believe he picked up two assists (and a goal?) as well as creating a couple of chances. He's one of those that will never light up a game, but certainly a decent squad player to have for a side at the bottom.

Cowie's a decent player but he's not Premier League quality. Would I keep him on the bench? Yes I would because he's someone when 1-0 up you can take Campbell off with 5 minutes to go and just tell Cowie to chase the ball around like a mad dog and you know he'll do it because he is a bundle of energy. That will disrupt their build up and the constant pressure we've found on us late in games.

I was disgusted when Maynard came on as he did nothing at all, barely any closing down up top which really showed late on with others tiring.
