Welcome to another addition of this morning's football news. Here are the main headlines:
Birmingham City are close to confiming the appointment of the Lee Clark as their new manager. Clark was sacked as manager of Huddersfield in February after more than three years in charge. His sacking came as a surprise after only losing three times in 55 league matches and with the team still fourth in the league table.
Watford striker Troy Deeney jailed for students attack. With the students clearly outnumbered, Troy, 23, was recorded by CCTV cameras kicking one of the victims in the head. One man suffered a broken jaw and another required 20 stitches as a result of the brawl in Broad Street. Watford FC said in a statement it was aware of the forward's sentence and would issue a full statement in "the next few days".
Portsmouth liquidation still a possibility . Portsmouth administrator Trevor Birch says player contracts are still the big hurdle facing the club and if a compromise is not reached with the players the club can still yet be liquidated.

Troy Deeney wouldn't have done that in Aber, the rugby lads would have sorted him out no problem. Some of the locals here are massive In terms of muscle too.
