Id react by daring him to sack me. Malky has lots of clubs willing to dive for his signature, so why not? Tell the press that your work would be much easier if Tan kept his nose out of something he knew nothing about - stopped hiring his own cronies in place of trusted staff.
If Tan sacks him, he also pays him millions in compensation. Few million pound bonus, a new job on a plate, and he gets to get out of the fire? I'd be laughing.
