In summary, defensively Cardiff are the second worst in the league for allowing shots on goal, averaging seventeen shots against us a match. We cope with the pressure well however, coming in seventh at shots per goal conceeded averaging 14 shots between goals.

Offensively, we average 10.5 shots a game, placing us sixteenth. We are joint seventh for goals per shots, averaging a goal also every 10.5 shots.

Purely based on that, we need to relieve the pressure on our defence and create more chances. Our defence is solid but overworked, and our attack is clinical but has too few opportunities. Sounds easy put that way.

These graphs are brilliant.

I would agree,  our defence is definitely over worked! But we have played Tottenham though,  the team who shoots on sight, no matter the distance - that would have lowered our record somewhat.

Looking at Newcastle then - in theory they are more dangerous in attack and generally better at defending than us.

I'm not feeling so confident about tomorrow now.  pale pale

Not sure about how good they are defensively, they suffer five less shots a game but concede twice as often, averaging a goal every 6 shots compared to our 14.

Offensively they are definetely a threat though, Remy in particular is highly dangerous on the break. They average a little less than a goal a match, similar to ourselves with a virtually identical shot to goal ratio. You could argue that makes them wasteful, since they average nearly twice as many shots.
