I have still not seen any explanation for him not even making the bench yesterday. Does anyone have the inside track on this one?

The best explantion I have seen on here, so far, is that, after the Chievo game, Malky felt Brayford was too attack-minded for the ultra-cautious-do-not-lose-at-any-cost tactics that will be used this season .................Brayford 3392635135

Maybe he was just being ultra-cautious and defensive for the first game (that worked well, didn't it).

No doubt Brayford will be unleashed against a quailing Man City.....

1. as there was nobody on the bench that could be utilised as a regular sort of defender, then it was in my opinion it was a case of no confidence in either lappin, mcnaughton or brayford. no confidence in one - maybe, but all three, no surely?

2. as i fail to see that as being true then there has to be another reason, say one or the other injured. in his pre-match interview malky said that he had a fully fit squad. that was not the case as cornelius did not play. maybe????

3. the third option was one of tactics. there are better at that than me so cannot really comment, but it does seem odd not to have a defender as cover on a subs bench.

4. an injury to a defender that led him to make a tactical decision that backfired. think i will go with that. if i am wrong then one across the knuckles

Not sure we are close to the truth here! He wouldn't go into an away game without backup it surely must be injury?
