On today, our premier league debut, WalesOnline has managed to publish an article that has replaced my match anxiety with frustration.

Vincent Tan, at the launch of his 'thanks a million' campaign, spoke at lengths about his hopes for the club. He also was asked his opinion of Hull City's name change. Brace yourselves -

1) He pretty much said that Malky is a dead man walking if we fail to solidify our place in the premier league.

The quote -
“If you spend £35m on a team you expect your manager and the players to deliver. God willing, they will."

In normal English - "If Malky turns out to of p**sed my money up the wall, hes gone".

2) This is the big one. Tan admitted to being a big fan of Hull City's owner, in particular agreeing with his opinion that 'there are too many teams with 'City' in their name. For the sake of balance, he also said that he wasnt indicating they were thinking of following suit, but did say 'never say never'.

Gulp. I wont let it take away from the football today, but Tan sure has a way of riling the fans whenever he speaks publically.

Namw change I think will always be at the back of our.minds especially now hull have done it, Tan needs to give malky a full season regardless he deserves it, And if tan sacks malky he will get another team and take ALL of our best players,

right now i am watching cardiff city player and and vincent tan's interview in full. not snippets edited out of context, not distortions or any other variations of the truth, but a factual interview.

on that basis i think all the inuendos and biased reporting of our alledged name change are completely false. nowhere does he say it is in the game plan, vt has simply said that you can never rule anything out as you can never rule anything in.

vt said that history is littered with politicians who wished in their lifetime that they had once said you can't rule anything out and you can't rule anything in.

I'll be frank Dave, I'm offended you've accused me of taking it out of context. I too watched the full interview, I simply posted the article link because I felt it summarised nicely.

The two quotes I used in my write up are not taking out of context, not are they trying to put words in his mouth. He did say both of them, word for word, and they're not exactly sentences that can be taken out of context. I even pointed out both sides where they were available, for example also explaining Tan said the name wouldn't change anytime soon.

Your opinion Red, certainly not mine.  The man speaks from the heart.  He's honest and says things as he sees them.  I'd much sooner have someone who speaks openly and honestly in answer to questions put to him in the public domain than someone who only says what he thinks others want to hear.  'Never say never' is something which he says quite often and is indicative of someone who keeps an open mind and doesn't just make 'spur of the moment decisions'.  That's how he has progressed in business and acquired his wealth.  The interview was two days ago, so ask yourself why Wales online and other media outlets would choose to print such an article on a day when all city fans want to do is concentrate on the positives of football and our debut in the Premier League - unlike TSVT they choose to pander to the minority who look to twist everything that he says because he dared to make a business decision and change the colour of shirt a football team wears.  I choose to ignore the gutter press and make up my own mind on what I see and hear, and at the moment I like what I'm seeing happening at CCFC and what I'm hearing from the majority share holder. It's such a pity that there are still those who can't or won't celebrate the positives and congratulate the man who is 'prepared to put his money where his mouth is' and continue to promote CCFC in a very positive way.  I tend to agree with dw - keep smiling and entertaining us with your posts.Brace yourselves... 833362651 Brace yourselves... 833362651
