Probably old news by now, but Newly promoted to the championship Bournemouth have managed to secure a pre season match against Real Madrid, at home.
When in comparison a squad that have just gotten into the highest division of English football can only tempt two mid table Spanish and Italian sides over, it's easy to start admitting the club let us down here.

Don't read too much into that. I'm sure Real Madrid are not viewing Bournemouth as a true pre-season test.......

Personally, I would. Albeit I have a fans perspective rather than a managers, but the idea of releasing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Mesut Ozil against Bournemouth and seeing how much damage they can do must be tempting.

Prices for that game are be ing quoted at £55 for season ticket holders and £60+ for others. Friendly games are included in my CCFC season ticket but if they weren't I certainly wouldn't want to be forking our those kind of sums for a friendly against any team. The bulk of the money would go to the visitors in expenses otherwise they wouldn't want the games. We pay enough to watch competitive football as it is so paying even more to watch friendly games is imho completely out of the question.

.......and I think that is far more important......
Yes I know Red, I have a beautiful mind.
The more I think about it though, the more everyone else is right. Pre season should be about building up confidence & eventually playing teams who provide you with a test, but with no chance of giving you a pasting and knocking confidence before the season starts.

Didn't Leicester manage to get Real in a friendly two years ago?
Must be a championship thing.
