If he left in transfer window? As we know whitts is like a part of the ccfc furniture.... But he tailed off towards end of season... tiredness etc? but if we sold whitts and got decent replacement...who would u want etc
Yes, I would. I still think he is a class player and could thrive in the Premiership. That touch of quality that both him and Kim bring could be the difference between staying up and going down next season.
He needed a break, no question but he's got that now so hopefully he will be back to top form next season. I'm not really convinced we could find an adequate replacement but it would be good to see him used in a more attacking role.

moving whitts to sweeping role in front of the back four was one of malky's biggest mistakes and one from which peter never really recovered.
if i kept him then would look to employing his skills out wide rather than in a central midfield role as he lacks a certain steel in the tackle.
he does have a premier league left foot that we could use next season and if he were sold would need a similar quality
not sure that there are anybody of proved skill around at a decent price

There is the rumour of an exchange for Charlie Adam, who, truth be told, would fit the Malky system better.......

Damn fine player if managed properly.......Malky could be the man!
PS...........younger than Whitts also
Yes - Whitts needs to stay. I remember a thread earlier this year that was along the lines of " Whitts is a club legend, his loyalty is very rare, we will look back and remember the days when Whittinghan played for the club" etc etc
I have no doubts he will be back on top form next season.

We have heard it recently....there is no room for sentiment.
On the face of it, Whitts hasn't fitted into Malky's plans at the death and the team hasn't suffered. We have had the discussion on here as to how he could be accomodated in the new look midfield...........and there is no easy answer.
It's a sad thought, but a realistic one, that it may well be time for everyone to move on......

Unfortunately there can be no room for sentiment and I think Adam is a better for for our style of play. So I would go with it.

Depends what version of Whitts shows up next season. If its the version that has the other teams goalkeeper soiling his shorts everytime he stands over a free kick or corner, and that hovers ominously around the penalty box waiting to lash one into the top corner then he's possibly our most important player. The other versions don't cut it.
Not sure if it means anything, but the FIFA 13 Whittingham has been immense since the start of the 13-14 season. Top assister in the league with 33 during that championship winning season, and after I came off worse in a clash of heads with Bale in the first game of the premiership season which sidelined me for months he's stepped up even further. Instead of throwing me perfect passes to put away he's started scoring them himself instead - 17 goals in 23 matches. Completely relevant, clearly.
