The fact that he would have been paid £30,000 per week basic wage if City had been promoted highlights the atrocious management of the club prior to the Malaysian investment

Exactly.
If he's genuinely owed the money then that speaks volumes about the previous regimes.

I like the fact that in his claim he states that some of the bonuses were agreed verbally. So basically Dave, it doesn't mean jack s**t

Dave Jones has been hinting at this for months and explains a lot of his obvious bitterness to the club. Right or wrong, this is something that needs to be sorted out and everyone move on......

If he's genuinely owed money then we need to pay him. It doesn't matter if he's an awful manager. It doesn't matter if he's a bit of a knob. It doesn't matter that paying him that much money was ridiculous. We promised it so we have to pay it.

I agree with u to a point andrew... but how do we know dj didnt agree to a initial payment to say goodbye and that was it, and dj is just trying to get more money due to greed, ?? guess we will never know,

Sounds like it was all done verbally. It still makes it a contract, but I would have thought you'd need witnesses. Why would anyone in their right minds rely on a verbal contract with Sam and Ridsdale? Surely he would have made sure he had it in writing as well, preferably in blood?
