Lets spare a thought for those teams who didn't make it.
Bristol City. Once the giant of the South West hosting Division One games. One time FA cup finalists. One time Welsh Cup winners. Could they face the embarrassment of Bristol Rovers being back in the Championship before them?
Portsmouth. Two time FA Cup winners. Two time Division One champions. Now just one league away from non-league obscurity. It could so easily have been us.
Aston Villa. Languishing three points away from relegation. A former European Cup champion, slaying Bayern Munich in Rotterdam, to go along with their numerous Division One titles. Add in to that seven FA Cups and five League Cups, as well as some recent close shaves with Champions League qualification, and you really do have a big team facing a mighty drop.
Wolves. Three First Division Championships. Four FA Cups and two League Cups. Another big team facing a possible life in League One, and there's no saying when they'll be back.
A special mention goes to Dagenham & Redbridge, Accrington, Torquay, York, Wimbledon, Barnet and Aldershot. None of whom are yet entirely safe from dropping out of the football league with just 6 Points separating them all.

Let's make hay while the Sun shines then... These moments come around once in a blue moon... and as these teams prove success can never be guaranteed and is often fleeting... So let's paaaarrtttyyyy and not give a single f*ck about the Wurzels :bounce:

I would absolutely love Bristol Rovers to be in that Championship before Bristol City. A real Bristolians club.

It is, of course, the very nature of football (as in most other sports), both in individual games and over the course of the season, that for every winner there is also a loser. Cardiff have been losers on so many occasions. It's our turn to enjoy being winners.

Nice response to the article about us in the New York Times:
I don't know much about this team, but the joy of them and their fans at gaining promotion is infectious. Congratulations to them! I look forward to seeing CC in the Prem next season.
Beats what used to be written about us in the "Dark Ages" not so long ago!
I'm sorry I can't agree about the Wurzels; I'm not going to give a flying f*ck about them; I can't not give a single one!!

It is sad times for them and I can't believe what is happening in the Midlands who would have known a couple of years ago that West Brom would not be only team doing well in the Premiership but potentially the only one there.
What a time for Wales - during this very brief pause for thought we acknowledge that another Welsh team could be promoted this year - Wrexham or Newport - with success in boxing, rugby, our best international football run in years the minnows are on the up
