Here's a very interesting article. Read it. Report back.

(Yes, I know it specifically deals with England BUT I think it applies to all followers of the English Leagues. I'm quite surprised we didn't get a mention actually)

'Would you rather choose the pilot who was capable or the one who was very passionate?'
Stupid analogy. This is assuming that the 'capable' pilot is a machine that's never affected by his own emotions, and the 'passionate' pilot is a dribbling imbecile that failed flight school 20 times. What if the 'capable' pilot loses interest in what he's doing? Who would you pick then, the capable pilot who doesnt give a crap or the passionate one who WANTS to not explode into a ball of flames?
There are many players, not only in England's team but in international squads around the world that are brilliant for club teams, but just don't care enough when they are asked to step up for country. There's a difference between being very emotional towards the result to the point of being hotheaded, and caring about not losing. England's second half performance portrayed that / a talented side that just seemed to lose all interest in playing the second half.
