Money As Debt Documentary (or Why We Are Screwed Long Term Anyway)

Following this sites cautious interest in the more political and economic issues over the last few days i thought i would post this.

I saw it a while ago and it is the reason i take so little interest in political, economic threads myself - all the arguments seem to be missing the larger picture. Debt is not an issue of mismanagement but is intrinsic to the system - and can never be repayed.

The bad news for me now is that for anyone who watches this or just reads what i have just said i may now qualify for the role of this messageboard's Splott David

Cracking little documentary toast fairplay. I've always wondered where money comes from, little did I know that money is created through debt. Money is created by banks producing money out of thin air for loans secured against the loan agreement to pay it back. Its worrying to hear US Presidents and bank leaders confirm that 95% of all money is created through issuing loans with money that doesn't exist - all the while making a nice bit on interest.

"Without debt, there is no money" - what a worrying thought.
