Always tried avoiding having one whenever I get ill, etc. Though I have no choice but to have one next week.
Not going to lie, I am fuc**** (rhymes with 'pucking)' shi**** (rhymes with 'fitting') it! Anyone else turn into a little girl when it comes to needles?

I have a phobia of needles too, which is partly the reason I'm a lab geek as opposed to a doctor. It doesn't matter if the needle is being used on me or not, I just don't like being around them.
It also doesn't help I have deep veins, so when I DO have to have blood taken its always a struggle.

Yup, just a little nick really - the anticipation of it is worse than the actual event. I used to find that looking the other way really helped, so do that. If you have enough of them, you get very used to it and develop a morbid fascination eventually; "Oooh, look! There's my blood coming out of my body".
Don't worry Gloves, The Fear is by far the worst part - so breathe deep and keep calm.

I always found the sensation of taking some blood out quite funny and enjoyable. Is there some sort of word to describe this? Apart from clinically insane that is. Anyone else get that feeling, perhaps its all in my head.
