"The snappily named 2012 DA14 will miss earth by a mere 17,200 miles when it passes the planet inside the orbit of many of our geosynchronous communication satellites."
That's pretty close!

Best take an umbrella if you're going out. Not worth taking the risk. !7,200 miles is as good as a hit in Astronomical terms

What they don't tell you is the measurement could be 20,000 miles out one way or another and that's no error in astronomical terms. They're just trying to tell us not to panic.
An alternative view is that it's the piece of rock that's going to screw up our promotion bid by hitting the stadium when the whole squad is there.

you wont miss the comet if it dont break up after going around the sun.
The asteroid might be tricky to spot. and in my experience it these sort of things get clouded out .

Bit more of a news story this week so keep you're eye on the ball!
I wonder how spectacular the comet later in the year will be?

Now that would be a flying bumming incident if that hit... equivalent impact to Jon Parkin falling off the top matress on a bunkbed... allegedly

It would make absolute sense in Cardiff City fashion, for our all defeating near promotion winning team to be defeated by some flying, inter-planetary Isle Of Wight.
