£25 million a year AFTER tax. But he would have to live in Moscow and be flown to play in Dagestan, which is a region so volatile the team has a military escort to and from games
Well, quite. Some things just aren't worth the money, like that second Ginster's pasty that has the reduced price tag on it - It'll make you feel sick and you know it.

That's why you should always buy a Wall's pasty. Then you get a dog in a small
Box that sings to the assistant in the petrol station. Like in the advert.

Wowzer!!!
Football is just crazy. I wonder if he would take the offer if it was from the likes of Man City or Chelsea though? I can't picture Messi leaving Barcelona tbh and could easily see him playing out his entire career there to be honest.

Any self respecting footballer would turn that offer down. If you love the game and are as talented as Messi is there is no way you should sell yourself into the obscurity of Russian football. I hate most of the 'Against Modern Football' campaign but that's one point I agree with - players that go to obscure teams that will never win anything just because they get offered ridiculous amounts of money. Yes, I'm looking at you again Hulk.
And you're right Rhys, Messi will never ever leave Barcelona. When he got diagnosed with his growth hormone deficiency at 11 nobody was interested in forking out 500 pounds a month for the next 7 years on a kid that simply looked promising. But Barcelona did, they signed him on a free, paid all of his medical bills and housed his whole family. You could say they were being selfish and could see what he was capable of in the future, but nonetheless it was an overwhelming display of kindness towards him from the club. He's openly said he could never fully repay them for it, all he can do is promise to love out his whole career there.

Crikey I hadn't heard that story before about Messi's childhood....
Did we do the same for Earnie... The most he could have hoped for from Cardiff would have been platform shoes....

It's. remarkable story. He's only 5'7 now which is still very small for a modern footballer, but without the treatment he would potentially be a couple of feet smaller still and a clinically diagnosed dwarf.

Fairs fair to the lad for showing loyalty then... However I suppose they pay him a few bob as well!
