I don't agree with at all Im afraid. He doesn't recognise the team because he hasn't seen them play. For most of us, the red kit = Cardiff city now.
It has never been so exciting to be a Cardiff fan.

Interesting indeed.
I follow Mirko on twitter and have seen him on CCMB and I know he has been very outspoken about the rebrand, sometimes almost to the point of mocking current supporters. This is a much welcome and more balanced piece from him, even if I don't agree with everything he says.
No doubt that the rebrand has been handled badly and the badge is a disaster. I do question whether the plans were really in place before the board were intending to announce it, but bit by bit we have started to see the signage take shape around the stadium. In some ways, I think this might be a good thing as it gives people a chance to get used to the idea over a period of time even if perhaps this wasn't the intention.
The badge is crap but Karl's designs are great and it sounds like the club are listening to fans on that one. I agree, it would also be nice to move away from Dragons but I can see the sense in it. Personally speaking, I never got the bluebirds link and for me it was a tradition that I really won't miss. At least in that sense dragons are at least a dynamic symbol even if it lacks imagination.
I don't think the kit is so much of an issue. I think we raised the point on here a while back that nobody in the football league actually plays in the red/black/red combo we do. I know that is only a small difference but when we were in blue, it was easy to mistake us for Everton/Ipswich or Leicester.
As for the finance issue, I wouldn't want to speculate as I don't know all the details nor am I inside Vincent Tan's brain. It does concern me though, of course it does. However, I believe only a few clubs within the Professional system aren't actually saddled with huge debt yet still continue to operate successfully. It seems the club have been looking to expand revenues streams/awareness too (TV broadcast in Malaysia etc) which can only be a good thing. The way I see it, if the club are in the s**t anyway why not take a chance on an investor who might offer some hope? If it all goes tits up we just revert back to what we were and on that, I come to the point that I disagree with strongly, the idea of Cardiff being dead for good after liquidation.
The division of fans exists right now because of the rebrand, if the club were to go bust then I'm 99% certain we'd go back to being the blue bluebirds and most fans would patch up their supposed differences. I also feel that the strength of support for the club and the area would lead to new team being resurrected, of that I am fairly certain too. I get the sense here Mirko might be looking at the total worst case scenario to justify his own rejection of the club. Like looking at an ex-girlfriend who cheated on you and wishing some terrible fate upon her - it very rarely happens like that.
Comparing fans to unthinking zombies is a little out of order too. Everyone has their reasons for sticking with the club and again this does smack of a 'holier than thou' attitude that has surfaced from some individuals who have decided to walk away.
Anyway, enough from me.
