I need a new job, have done for some time in truth, but I've done nothing about it.

Anyway, in order to apply for a new job I need a CV and as I haven't done one for years I'm out of touch with what a good CV looks like so I've come to you, my silent friends, to ask for advice.

Basically I need to know what the best layout is for a CV, can anyone help? Any good templates knocking about?

Yeh that's the thing, there's loads of options, I feel like a fat kid staring at the chocolate isle with only enough money for one. Or something.

Joking aside - your CV is your 'opener'. Think along the lines of 'this is me' without over doing it. Keep it to one side of A4. 2 sides if absolutely necessary.

Found myself in a similar situation a few years back and I went to the Job Centre for advice. They put me in a taught seminar with a group of other no-hopers and it was amazingly helpful. If you get stuck, give it a try.
