Why doesn't the transfer window end before the season starts? If I were a player, I'd be mightily cheesed off missing the opening games of the season.

Two big European teams huh Michael? No more hints than that? You want us to think Barca and Real Madrid don't you, when in reality their benches dont even want you. I thought about it and realised Scotland and Ireland count under that European team flag, so I reckon you probably mean Hearts and Shamrock Rovers. Probably as a bench player.

I lost respect for him the moment he decided he was happy to sit on Uniteds bench for two years with a bloated salary, when he could take a slight dip in pay and move to a midtable team like Everton and be a constant first team presence. It's again what he's doing here, he wants to stay in the premiership, even though he knows he's not good enough and will be benched regularly. He'd rather sit on his ass and inflate his already multi million fortune than play the game he' supposed to love.

Poor Owen, not only has he lost his footballing ability but he's also seems to have lost his mental ability too. The doughnut still thinks Forest and Red Star Belgrade are top European clubs. Poor Owen. Maybe he should become a jockey and ride a horse to New Zealand where we can all be free of his inundated dribble.

Used to like him/ rate him.

As soon as he signed that contract extension at United, despite not getting a look-in and interest from other clubs in the PL, he decided to stay.

Though as a free agent he is not restricted to the transfer window is he.

When can clubs sign free agents from? Is it when the loan window opens or at anytime?

Any time, I believe. I expect Liverpool may be giving him a call.
