Fan derives from fanatic and a real fanatic would still smile even if they're club signed a labrador as cover for defence.
I am happy whatever our club does. I am a real fanatic and even with relegation I would look optimistically to the next season and claiming our spot back.
A lot of those dribblers on there would soon leave if the club were to plummet down the divisions. They're not fanatics. A fanatic loves the club, most often blindly, and does not let their own agenda get in the way of that.
