Cant really comment as Mark Whitby is a Jack and has never really done us any favours in pre season friendlies.
Thought their pen was somewhat soft, but moreso because none of their players appealed. I think they had two other legitimate penalties ignored. I believe Kiss was fouled for our pen appeal, but went down looking for a 9.6 and made too much of it for the ref to give it.
Chek Tiote got away with a lot today without getting a talking to, a number of reckless challenges by Coloccini on Mutch & Tiote on Conway, but I honestly believe Pardew got in Whitby's ear at H/T.
Can I also ask how Whitby acknowledges a foul on Eti in the second half but waves play on just because we have possesion when we are right down at the corner flag and hemmed in?
Eti's goal seemed offside, but he was called offside twice later, when clearly in an onside position.
One good thing though, he was consistently crap for both sides
