Why was he referred to as a utility man by the media? He hasn't played anywhere but CB here and clearly lacks the pace and technique to play wide or higher up. Bit of an old gripe but it always bugged me.

I can't really remember any of the media calling him a utility player to be honest with you. You are right though that he clearly wouldn't be any good in any other position than CB.

Never heard him called anything but a CB.

Maybe that's what they meant, he can play as a big man up front as well as CB!

The Bluebirds were keen to bolster their defensive options and versatile Turner can cover a number of positions.

Probably just a lazy journalist who does his research with computer games. Football Management games are always ascribing versatility to players that don't have any. Make an appearence at left back for the reserves, play the last five minutes of a game in midfield as a late substitute and lo, you are a Defender/Midfielder Left/Centre.

Too true
indeed. FM 12 has Mason down as an attacking wide right midfielder/striker.Roath Redbird wrote:Kamuza wrote:Probably just a lazy journalist who does his research with computer games. Hey leave FM out of it! I use it for all my early scouting assessments, and I'm running Cardiff through a simulated season right now, complete with all new signings and formation. I WONT tolerate it
