Listening to Nation yesterday and heard a decent little ditty by 90s coiffured lamb chopsters, Supergrass. Had a few decent albeit mainstream hits, and were even touted to appear in their own 'Monkees' style TV show in the US after an approach from Steven Spielberg IIRC, but they simply withered away to, well, not very much at all.

What happens to these bands when the world is seemingly their lobster? Do they simply get bored / lose their mojo?

Any other disappearing acts?

What happened to the Stereo MCs?
Did they disappear for good in the early '90s?

I wouldn't say Supergrass were a band who disappeared, ok they weren't chart toppers but regularly released good music until they spilt up 2 or 3 years ago. Supergrass front man Gaz Coombes released his first solo album this year, it's pretty good too, worth a listen or 2.

The Beatles. One minute they were here, and the next minute they were gone. I blame Yoko Ono.

Wholeheartedly agree, once a promising beat combo headling the Town Hall in Abergavenny... The next thing gone, nothing, nada, nowt.... I blame the council

The Stand... Saw them at the 'Shea' in '65 supported by The Stones, The Who, Arthur Mullard and Hilda Baker, The Doors and JFK playing the ukulele... Which he infamously set fire to with some swan vestas after closing his set with 'Go Compare'
