It seems to me that we have a very shallow bench.

Also confirms for me that it was stupid to let Huws go (though I understand the financial reasons for doing so)

Not ideal to start with knocks to Pelts, Richards, Harris and Connelly. Nevermind the two new players who arrived injured.

Pre-season was perhaps a bit too intense

I don't think there is any need for panic. Neil Warnock likes players who are flexible, so starting them in "unfamiliar" positions pre-season is a useful exercise. Against Livingston, he could quite easily have gone with a back three to include Halford, with two wing-backs. However, I don't they ever posed that much of an attacking threat to warrant that.
