Wales demostrated how effective a line up this is in Isreal and I had long believed that it was worth trying at City.
Unfortunately, the departure of players like Cala and Connollly we have lost the men who are most comfortable on the ball and were most suited to the role as the third CB.
All is not lost though, a middle three of Morrison, Manga & Turner would be balanced and strong enough for a Championship campaign.
The wing backs select themselves - Fabio & Declan John.
Add in a midfield trio from Kennedy/Noone, Gunnarsson/Adeyemi, Whitts/Ralls
With a front two of Revell/Macheda and Mason/Doyle
Next season sorted...............

Not bad, but remember many of us complaining before that Noone was wasted in the middle of the pitch and that beating men and racing down the wing to nip in a cross was really his strength. I fear the same with Kennedy, which would mean unless they are also defensive possibilities, you're hatcheting one of our best players into an uncomfortable role.

True enough. How about Pilkington as a starter instead of Noone/Kennedy?
We've got seven games to experiment with stuff like this. The problem is, Slade is not assured of his job for another year, so he will just be focused on picking up wins at any cost.

Not that I'm advocating offering Slade a new contract of course.

Pilkington I liked - wherever the hell he went that is...
Personally I was quite a fan of OGS's plan - an attacking 4-4-2 at home, a defensively biased 5-3-2 away. It may not of worked that well for him, but it had merits.this system could be the away set up and you could reply Kennedy and Noone(Pilkington) in their natural positions at home.
