The more I read, the more I think "hoax".
I asked my wife what she thought, but she said "who cares?"

It only appears vaguely blue because the white balance is off. Where the hell people are getting black from is a complete mystery but, ultimately, I agree with TDA's wife...

Interest effect if you scroll down the set of 3 photos very slowly.

That's because the foreground is underexposed. Any colour that is underexposed turns black, combine it with an incorrect white balance and you get a blue effect also. The first picture has the dress (the foreground) correctly exposed.

Yeah as Arkay said - it's almost exactly the same thing as those 'stare at the dot and jesus shows up' pictures.

...........unless spot readings were taken to correctly expose the background, in which case the dress is blue & black.
