The pressure is finally off of Norwich!

Just kidding, that'd be ridiculous. Slade has been confirmed as City manager.

Hell of a statement from Tan.

“I ask that our supporters offer him a chance to prove his long term value to our club, giving him and his players their full support as we try to earn our place in the Premier League under his guidance. Look at Russell’s track record. He certainly deserves to be given a chance. After all, Cardiff gave a chance to a mediocre manager from Watford and he took the Club to the Premier League. I did however give him a lot of money to spend for that – in fact, too much money.".

He really doesn't like Malky! It's done! Finally! 692773407

Aye I saw that too Stewells - I was tempted to call him a p**ck, but that probably wouldn't of been strong enough.

Malky's taken enough stick without you calling him that.

Well, he also makes sure to point out that Slade was his appointment, so if it doesn't work out, he can't blame anyone other than himself. If Slade does well, we might see Tan willing to give him some funds in January.

Slade has a decent amount of time to get to know the lads before the next game. He can take the time to put across his footballing philosophy and what-not. We should really see the difference when we play next.

Fiiinnallly!

I'm actually looking forward to see what Slade can do...

Is it me or does anyone else miss the 4-4-2 formation that seems to be soooo unfashionable these days?

I personally find that having only one and out and out striker is a little dull and never quite seems to work out below the highest levels of the footballing world

I personally think the exact opposite Rhys - the 4-4-2 is a footballing relic that is outdone time and time again unless you have acres of quality all over the pitch - a la Man City.

A 4-4-2 utilising two out and out strikers makes you thin on numbers in the middle, with your two centre midfielders having a minimum of three people running at them at once. You need those two to be strong tacklers with bags full of energy and also a creative eye - no one in our squad really ticks all three boxes.

A 4-5-1 suits our current squad much better - match numbers with numbers in the middle and let the likes of Daehli and Ravel Morrison join the striker, where they are at their best.

I like to see 2 up front but our midfield struggles even with 5 in it let alone 4.

I think our only hope is to play a 4-5-2 formation and hope that nobody notices.

Even then our defence is still a tad shaky. Might as well sneak in a 5-5-2 and hope for the best It's done! Finally! 692773407

Has anyone tried two goalkeepers before, or is that probably too obvious?

Can't seeing that work Red as guaranteed our two keepers would bump heads in the first five minutes and be out for the season, leaving Tan to play himself in goal. It's done! Finally! 3392635135

Slade's Q&A video in the article below

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/russell-slade-qa-new-cardiff-7895053?

Is it me, or does he sound like he is bricking it?

It sounds like he is just being honest to me. He has obviously had some input and been around the camp then saw the same debacle at Blackpool as everyone else.

I would prefer an honest assessment of how bad we are and how much needs to be done than false positivity based on the hypothetical potential of the squad.

He knows he has a monumental task ahead, its about getting the players to gel and getting a few wins to gain confidence
