First topic message reminder :
If true, this is troubling on several fronts.
Firstly that Malky is racist and a pretty nasty character
Also, very messy how this has all come out as he looked certain to land the palace job.
What a big bloody mess.

Wow this getting tasty
If all that is true, which I would imagine it is, it is becoming more and more difficult to believe anything that Malky says

Let's just hope it doesn't affect us on the pitch.

I wouldn't think it would affect our performances. None of it has any impact on the way the players perform as they aren't being criticised and nor is the present manager. Plus the fans are potentially going to get behind the team a bit more as Malky will no longer be held in quite the same esteem.

There is no reason why this should affect performances. There is no internal disruption at City, which makes a change.............the problems lie at the doors of Malky & Moody..................and Palace in the Spygate matter..

It's becoming a very deep argument that's for sure - whether private messages sent to a personal friend with racial connotations should affect your working life. I laughed at a few of the texts but would never share any of them with malicious intent - does that make me a racist and affect my ability to do my job?

There is a huge difference in that you aren't using a mobile phone that is paid for by your high profile employer and it is far more difficult for your jokes to enter the public domain in as high profile a manner as Malky and Moody's. Pleasant we all are on this board, I'm sure none of us are household names in South Wales and amongst football fans throughout the UK and therefore what we say isn't seen by the same volume of people, such as those from differing backgrounds to us who may take offence at such texts, joke or not

First and foremost I'm not defending Malky in any way, what he did was completely wrong and he targeted it at individuals.
The point I'm trying to make was what I was taught leading to my professional registration - people have intolerances, is unavoidable. Some people think being gay is wrong, some people dislike black people, as ridiculous as it may sound to you to some people it's so deep down in their subconscious it's not ever going to truly be dealt with. The difference is not allowing that to express in your working life and affect your decision making process. Malky did let it affect him - he targeted players directly and it seemed to also play a part on who he signed or didn't sign.

Ah well that is a different point. Although Harry Redknapp feels Malky should get another chance, but that is probably professional courtesy. Malky and Moody probably won't come back from this. I feel sorry for them as they have earned good money and will now earn nothing like that again, and that will be difficult to adjust to. But then this is what happens when you are well known and make bad mistakes

The LMA has dug a big hole for itself. City are after them for the original statement and this retraction is meaningless. Jason Roberts and Leroy Rosegnoir, amongst others, have been very vocal in condemning what the LMA said in "defence " of Malky.

I am hugely surprised that the LMA worded their statement as badly as they did
