Hmmm, what does everyone think about him so far?

Jury still out for me. Thought he had a few nice touches & link ups with midfield yesterday (altho, as Red pointed out, not Campbell) BUT his off the ball movement seems poor. If it's not at his feet, he doesn't go for it.

There was a moment yesterday when Kim won the ball and pressed forward with just Jones alongside. Jones made no attempt to make a run & Kim quickly ran out of options but played the ball to where he thought Jones might/should run. It was easily cut out as Jones was rooted to the spot leaving Kim throwing his hands up in exasperation.

You would've put money on Campbell making that run. If he is to play a Thorne/Thomson role he has to work a bit bloody harder than that.

Stoke fans warned us he was lazy and we laughed at them. Now we look pretty red faced and I reckon they got the better deal. If we get a couple of strikers in in January I don't expect to see him again.

Campbell on the other hand I adore. No matter how many chances he wastes or how many silly dives he performs he still has my favourite characteristic in a footballer - he will run and run and run, regardless of how much of a lost cause it is.

Not what we need. I'd genuinely rather have kept Gestede!

I was actually sorry to see him go. Sad He wasn't always effective but when he was he could really cause problems for defences.

I do hope Mason can bring his good form back to the club...and Brayford for that matter!

I have to echo everyone's sentiments so far, he looked like a lazy sod. He wouldn't move at all.

But as my brother pointed out he is a different player to Campbell. As a target man his main job is to hold up the ball and bring others into player, he just doesn't have the pace to run over the shoulders like campbell.

On another day he would have slotted that chance home, at least he hit it first time too. Most would have skied it if hit first time or would have taken a touch and the chance lost

As mentioned above, the positives: if (when?) we are relegated, Brayford and Mason will be ready for a season in the Championship.

Very true, but he's too lazy for that too. Unless you perfectly find his forehead from thirty yards he cant be bothered to challenge for it. It almost makes me miss Helguson...

I liked Helgusson. It was unfortunate that so much responsibility fell on his aging shoulders when Maynard was injured. We really could have done with more from Mason, but, somehow, we still managed to get promoted.

I actually completely forgot about Helgusson! Terrible really as he did make quite a contribution.
