Just a question...if we went down, would it be a complete disaster? Yes, it would be disappointing but surely not the end of the world?
The championship is a good league and we would be a big fish in a smaller pond once again enjoying the thrills of chasing promotion.
Of course, there are the financially implications...but providing we could continue, I wouldn't be devastated forever

Steve Bruce is an excellent manager and has been in this situation time after time, but I don't think he was ever an achievable target. Pilots is an expert at taking a team in trouble and ensuring their survival, but has never really provided any proof he can go beyond that. He'd of been great in this situation, but I think if our aspirations are still mid/top half of the table then someone else would be better.

We are and unless we get a win against Norwich then I think our fate is sealed as we have not even looked like going on any sort of run and all the bottom teams are getting results.
Oh well it’s not our money that has been wasted and Tan is reaping his rewards for being a shagwit with our last manager and the whole I will sack you if you don’t go nonsense being dragged out was the end of our season right then for me.
This league stands still for no team and I can see us being bottom by the end of the season.
In my humble opinion the players that have been brought in are not going to catapult us up the table anytime soon apart from one on loan who is not ours anyway.
I believe we have bought for next season because expecting to turn our fortunes around at this stage of proceedings is quite frankly not going to happen.
I hope I am wrong and we can string a couple of wins from or next three games, but for me the damage has already been done.

A couple of lucky results earlier in the season and the fans blind support for Malky are what have put us in this position.
Accuse me of saying I told you so, if you like, but some of us were calling for a change of manager last summer. The signs were there in the Championship and alarm bells should have been ringing when all those new signings couldn't be tied up.
We missed the chance to get Gus Poyet and then again with Tony Pulis and now we can only watch as their teams disappear into the safe havens several places above us.
In OGS, I think we have got a cracking manager for the long term, but unless we do get at least two wins in Feb, then this season can be written off.

But I think we were all aware of how the team played last year but felt sacking the guy who won us promotion could have been very risky

Exactly, but strong leadership was called for and Tan just didn't have the necessary experience and foresight in football matters.

Just read an article and a huge asteroid is due to hit the earth in 2032. That means the world can't end if we are relegated in 2014, as the asteroid wouldn't have an earth to collide with if it did. We can all sleep easy now. Until December 31st 2031 that is.

You'll have to bring it forward one day. Can't you get another monkey to wash it for you, save some time that way?

Did Arkay mean he was going to polish his head on that date?
