CardiffCityFans.Com - Now Live
Page 1 of 1 • Share
Well the new site has gone live - kind of at least!
It's a bit emotional really - redbluebirds.com has seen us through the biggest season of our club's history and it has served us well (look at all you lovely people who use it!). But it is now time to say goodbye to the old domain and hello to the new - CardiffCityFans.com
Well sort of time to say goodbye - the forum will run on dual domain names for at least the next year (maybe longer) - partly because I have paid for the redbluebirds domain name now for the next year and also because the forum as it currently stands is intrinsically tied up in the redbluebirds name (in-site links, existing sub-domains etc) - I haven't really figured out how to change all that yet. So feel free to carry on using the redbluebirds name for as long as you like (Dave) but all the communication and branding will be cardiffcityfans.com - Karl M Payne is currently whipping up a decent banner for the site - what is there at the moment is just a placeholder.
As previously mentioned, here are the main reasons for the change:
1) I feel the redbluebirds name has served it's purpose. It was set up to make a point in the immediate aftermath of the rebrand saga - going forward, I don't want this forum to be defined by its stance on the rebrand. After all, the forum was initially setup for those who just wanted to get on with supporting the team and club.
2) I feel that the name also gives an impression of an overwhelming pro-red stance, which is not quite right. I think it's fairer to say that the forum is for those who don't want to get caught up with the rebrand and who thinks that it is a secondary issue to actually supporting the team. After all, it's just football.
3) The domain name gives the website a chance to grow and develop beyond just being a forum.
Just to reassure everyone, the ethos and feel to the forum will stay much the same.
Here's to another great year following Cardiff City in the Premier League
P.S. - All you regulars who are currently on a 'football holiday', hurry up. We need your input (Nope, definitely not desperate)

I'm here, I'm here, the forum has been blocked in work and I've been a bit busy outside work of late. I hope to be back more regularly soon though!

CCF makes most sense to me......but that also is an acronym for "Combined Cadet Force" from my youth.....
