Not football, but what is.....

I'm on night duty this week and woke at 15:45 this afternoon with this question on my mind. What if magnetism didn't exist. What is we had never discovered or managed the power of magnets. People talk about great inventions, but surely this is one of the great discoveries.

It's threads like this which sets this forum on a different plane to AAMB. They are probably discussing the price of jellybabies at this very moment.

We'd never have developed 3D diagnostic MRI scans which have saved the lives of millions or the bald man with the egg shaped head in the plastic wallet would never get an iron filing hair and beard makeover...

Because I believe that Steam Power was the only invention or discovery that really mattered I chose to get all philosophical and replaced the ellipsis with a question mark. Not football, but what is? Even the question is a question.
