I hope that's how Cardiff will go up... We can't play champagne football week in week out.... We need to start gathering points on the road and it's going to be THE season

I think we would have won by more had we not lost our defensive shape so early

Last year we would have been dead and buried with this level of injury... We did really well today to keep a clean sheet and if we were more stable at the back we could have pressed for more goals... Howver for me what is more perplexing is how with a complete back unit conceded 5 against Charlton *** OFFICIAL MATCH THREAD: CARDIFF CITY VS MIDDLESBROUGH *** - Page 3 2854552383 The rollercoaster keeps on running

Great result, and I was impressed with the way Nugent coped with his fiery baptism, especially after Taylor was forced off from alongside him. Is it compulsory that anyone called Ben has to be Big?

Nugent coped admirably, and there were a number of good performances. I have to say I might have given Connolly man of the match

Noone was clutching the big bottle at the end. I'm convinced they just pull a number out of Rhys's hat.

I think Noone deserved it, even with the team defending so much of the second half he consistently broke the defensive line and found space for an attack, but he was let down by Helguson and Mason being so slow. He was let down by Helguson once more when that fine cross of his didn't get the finish it deserved. He became even more dangerous once Bellamy found the pitch with pace almost equal to Noone's, they could be a fine partnership. Particularly away from home, if we get stuck in counter attacking football tactics the pace of the duo could nick results for us.

My hat is actually currently on loan to the club so you never know...

For me, the clear motm was Hudson. He did amazingly, coping with one of the leagues in form team whilst constantly having to walk Nugent and ralls through it ( not to take away from their own performances) and covering for them, just in case. You could also see him encouraging Nugent throughout.

Finally, he went through the wars a bit. Its not often you see Hudson down injured a few times in a game.

For me a fantastic captains performance.
