Nice!

I can't quite decide if I like the film or not.
On the one hand, totally amazing special effects. But on the other, really quite boring.

My class watched it in A level media studies, but I wasn't in, the teacher (now a confirmed gay) lent it to me, but I couldn't get past the first 10 minutes.

A very strange film indeed, which I gave up trying to understand. However, years later I read the sequels, 2010 and 2061, which go along way to making sense of the original. They are very much easier to read than the first novel.

Just checked Arthur C Clarke on Wiki and there is a final Odyssey, 3001. I must get hold of that and see how it all ends....... A Space Odyssey 4228682415

Was his name Henry? My media studies lecturer (he was a teacher really but I took my a levels in night school where they call themselves lecturers) was assaulted on a Cardiff Bus by someone who thought him gay. After he'd punched poor Henry, the kuckle dragger that did it boasted about the street in Splot he was from and then legged it into the night. It took the Police about three seconds to work out who he was and nick him.
