£1 million for a Jason Shackell from derby - does anyone know much about him?

Don't know too much about him to be perfectly honest but I have a mate at university who is a Derby fan through and through so I'll get some feedback from him over the next 24 hours.

It'll be good to have some as back up/competition for Hudson and Turner so as long as he is better than bloody Gerrard I'll be happy :laughingabit:

If Malky is interested in Shackell and also Keogh from Coventry, then it surely indicate that Gerrard along with Keinan are on their way out of the club.

I think we might find that once the premier league boys start shifting players around the other leagues will start...I'd prefer Malky to see what was released/available from the premier league.

Steven Davies of Derby is on a Bosman. 11 goals last year. Good centre forward.

This is what my friend who is a Derby County fan had to say of Shackell

He's a strong defender in the air, worth 1.5mil in my opinion, if you lot get him for any cheaper than its a great buy.

Looks like a £1m bid would be a great buy. Hes very good when it comes to rating players football wise so hopefully Malky can see this deal through if its true.

Teams are going to sell high to the likes of Leicester and be cautious this year with frees, with FFP coming in. I'd rather we didn't spend 1m on a defender, I mean, we got Turner for 850k, don't think we can that kind of bargain again. Why Malky just doesn't raid league 1 and 2 is baffling.

Sounds promising. Any idea how old he is?
