Its raining at the tennis and I fancy an easy 20 pointer by linking into the Colonel's earlier post... And I've been drinking... So for me my favourite electronic games of my youth (some were also rockin difficult to finance 'must haves' that were not available in the Gratton's etc. catalogue and were desired by your mates) were 'Pong' (proper TV version with two twiddley knobs on the 'hand held controller' which was the size of a family calzone pizza), 'Blip' nuff said if anyone else ever had one, I had an LED calculator which had a Grand Prix function where you could 'race' a full stop, we couldn't afford a 'Simon' but I'm not scarred, I had an Atari and then latterly a 'Calico Vision'. My computer was. ZX Spectrum and I had all the 'Ultimate Play the Game' titles but Knight Lore, Sabre Wulf, Alien 8 and Underwurlde were my favourites. I still have all these cassettes hidden in my 'special' drawer

I guess I should have asked the question what were your childhood favourites to give my thread any point whatsoever

Sticking your fingers in plug sockets was the best electric based game I ever played as a child. Used to always get a good buzz out of it.

I still have an ET cartridge for my Atari 2600... according to folklore the worst video game ever made with tens of thousands of units buried in the Mojave desert

The only electronic game when I was a kid was the pocket calculator my dad brought home from work one day - I remember we all got very excited by it. The electronic equivalent of a carboard box as far as games go!

You could spell 'BOOBS' by turning the calculator upside down though, am I right, don't say you never did, simple days but not that innocent

Absolutely, I don't know what else you'd use it for!

Horace goes Skiing Weak visuals beyond belief but 'rock' or 'solid' depending where you're from as a a kid to describe its difficulty

Stayed Welsh with my first computer and had a Dragon 32 and used to program it with the help C&VG (Computer & Video Games) magazine.
Console wise had the Atari 2600 and also a Coleco Vision.
I was up in the attic the other day and found an Astro Wars, powered it up and had a go. When I was a kid I played it for hours, this time I got bored after 3 minutes.

Does 'ringing the doorbell and running away' count as an electronic game?
