Right, so normally I'm pretty savvy on this but sadly this morning I think I got caught out by a bogus site that insisted I installed a flash update. I knew as soon as I clicked it that I shouldn't have but by then it was too late. What confirmed my suspicions was that when I then went to delete the file from my downloads folder, it disappeared before I had chance thus hiding it's existence. I then get warnings from my anti-virus that various programs are trying to make dodgy connections (which are then blocked) but give no reference to what they are.

So, I'm currently running a McAfee scan but so far it has found nothing. I've gone through search after search trying to see if I can locate it, but I'm unable to detect it. Assuming that this all proves fruitless, how can I be sure that it's not still hiding somewhere or that I don't have spyware reporting my every move to some geeky fraudster somewhere?

Any boffins out there able to help?

Also, if I suddenly publish random insults to you all or links to penis enlargement offers there's only a 50% chance that it might actually be me...

I've been getting problems of late along the same lines. You have to be very wary of clicking on anything that is not on a reputable site (not that that guarantees anything). Funnily enough footy sites (this one included) seem to be the worst though my system just informs me of all the programs that failed to run when I access these sites.

Wait, what do you mean? Is that a Miller Smiley because it didn't work or a Miller Smiley because it did work and you wish you'd done it sooner?

This is why I no longer use flash. So many viruses attached to it these days that can get into your system through your cache its ridiculous. HTML5 is the way forward. I'm diseased - help! 1525230823

I can think of so many things I would sooner be doing and the whole thing turned out to be a marathon. I'm diseased - help! 2925389657
