Those huge tonnage lorries you see around

Massive things they are - 20tons of sheer tarmac pulverising behomoth. You've all seen them if you think about it.

So why on earth do a lot of them have the words 'DO NOT PUSH?' actually printed on the back (not just written in dirt)

Is this the most mind numbingly obvious piece of advice around or can you think of any others?

Haven't you ever seen these lorries pushing each other on steeper hills like the ones around Newport. If they can't overtake the lorry in front they'll just give it a helping nudge.

By far the most irritating advice is written on my travel mug "caution, contents may be hot". Well, yuh huh, I filled the thing with hot coffeee before I left the house, do they really think I'm that stupid that five minutes down the road that I will have forgotten that I put HOT coffee in MY travel mug. AGGGHHHHHH!

It's what the message doesn't say that bothers me.

I once owned a Jeep Cherokee which had "Caution objects in mirror may be closer than they appear" stamped on the wing mirror. After a short period of worry that the alphabet was chasing me, I found the advice invaluable. Unfortunately the mirror didn't say "Caution objects in mirror are not life sized" and once when preparing to change lane, I saw a Ford Ka in my mirror and thought, well it fits entirely in my mirror so it can only be a couple of inches high, it will fit right under my Jeep, just like the radio controlled car in Toy Story. Into the lane I moved, sickening was the crunch and that poor Ka owner still can't remember his own name. Naturally, I've put a claim in.
