Oh dear...without knowing the details I don't want to judge. Being a footballer usually results in a bit of agro when on a night out - a shove back and, as tomlin is someone with a bit of dosh, ends up in some claim court...or he could be a thug. Again, let's wait for the facts to emerge

The specific charge is GBH without intent, and I'll admit to having no idea what that means. Self defence? Threw a punch but damage was caused by the fall not the hit? Guy tripped over your shoelace?
