Hi all,
Following feedback from a number of users, the forum has undergone some massive changes today - there are so many tweaks and touches that it would be hard to name them all. The immediate advantages should be obvious straight away though!
Completely responsive design & mobile access now has full features - this basically means that no matter the device (pc, mobile, tablet etc) you are viewing the forum from, the forum should look clear and fully functional! No more basic mobile version of the site or pinching to zoom in!
Cleaner design - the forum should now look a lot cleaner and less cluttered, the info bar that used to run down the side of the site is now 'hidden' by a + symbol in the top right corner. To view the bar, just click on the +
Quality of life changes - There are loads of little quality of life changes that should make the forum a bit more enjoyable to use. Here are a view examples:
The new look is a work in progress, the colours etc can and probably will be changed (not sure about the grey, thoughts?), but I hope you can appreciate that this should lead to more enjoyable experience for all users

- Being able to start a new topic, as well as reply, from within a topic.
- An 'online/offline' bar within each post so you know instantly who is currently viewing the forum.
- At the bottom of the forum is the 'Dark mode' that you can switch on to reduce glare and eye strain if you are viewing in bed or in a dark room
- Select your own theme - we can all chose our own themes colours if you so chose.
- The reply box has more options and has a modern look.

Appreciate the thought and work going in to this.
This is great stuff Rhys, some nice changes here, loving the responsive layout (Google will love it as well) board is nice and simple and more inviting.
Fingers crossed Cleeve will be alright with it.

These are cracking updates @Rhys! I actually think the colour scheme is spot on - appropriate for City, not too garish and easy on the eyes. Top work. #RhysIn
Saying that, you mentioned "choosing our own themes" - how does that work then?
Also, I notice that JB is still listed as a mod. Ahem, I think we should probably remove him from that!

God only knows why I let him become a mod in the first place!Arkay Dubya wrote:These are cracking updates @Rhys! I actually think the colour scheme is spot on - appropriate for City, not too garish and easy on the eyes. Top work. #RhysIn

Theme selection - at the top of the forum , you will see a dropdown box called select a theme. You will see a loads of options, basically everyone can choose a different theme from anyone else if they want!

Changes look real good, but theme selection people may actually switch to red.
Thought I'd done that already! Opps
