Very honest appraisal by the manager of what is best for both the players and the club. He continues to go up in my estimation and I will admit to having got the bloke totally wrong for years.

Can't argue with any of that. I think those players have gone stale and it would be better for all concerned if they moved on.
Can't help but feel that John has been under appreciated.
It seems like his confidence has been knocked so many times that it has somehow effected his ability and development.
If only successive managers built him up, I'm sure we would have had a quality wingback on our hands.

Not so sure he was ever as good as he was built up to be. His loan spells never went well. At Barnsley, the supporters really disliked him.
Definitely in need of a change.

Unfortunately Declan hasn't kicked on since he played in our Prem first match against West Ham. I still think he could have a decent Championship/League One career but he needs stability, game time and a manager who believes in him. He simply isn't worth keeping on at City much as it pains me to say it. It's another example of Warnock's strong decision making around the young players at City, as the club has produced good youngsters but made consistently bad decisions about them or hasn't played them and then after the Regan Poole incident, refused to let them go in case of another good player slipping through the net and embarrassing us
