Gone to Newport on loan until January. A good test to see if he can score at senior level and near enough to keep a close eye on him.

Hope he can make an impact there. In other striker news, Jacks have missed out on Valencia from West Ham.
What is the point in keeping him on the books? He quite clearly has no chance of breaking into the first team - he didn't even feature in pre-season!
Same goes for O'Sullivan, who must surely be knocking on for about 23 now - again, that is not young and he should have more than 100 senior appearances under his belt by now.
Cardiff City academy system really is a graveyard for talented youth players.

Perhaps they are not that talented in the first place? They certainly don't appear to make much impression if they go out on loan. That may go some way to understanding the recent cut-backs in that department.

He's a decent player and a good finisher. In the last U23 game he was fairly innocuous up front on his own but as soon as they brought Phipps on, who's a decent size lad, he came into his own, scored and looked dangerous.

O'Sullivan will be 22 next January and Healey 22 in December. There appear to be a few other promising youngsters in the U23 and Academy teams but I wonder if they become stale with us because we don't seem to give young players a chance any more.
