Cardiff City boss Russell Slade is confident that his side will not be involved in the relegation battle in the Championship this season.
The Bluebirds fell to their third defeat on the spin in the league as an own goal from Scott Malone and a strike from Chris Martin fired Derby County to a 2-0 victory at Cardiff City Stadium.
Slade told reporters: "I'm a positive person and I don't think we are getting dragged into a relegation fight.
"We need to stop this trend of losing but I don't see why we can't go and win next week and get some momentum.
"This has been a tricky period as we go through transition with players leaving and coming in, but it's not impossible to make the play-offs. That is becoming less realistic with the points we need to catch up, but we won't give up."
Cardiff are 13th in the Championship, seven points clear of the relegation zone.

There's a thread on CCMB this morning claiming that the team ignored Slades team tactics and decided to play their own style - orchestrated by Gunnarrson and Whittingham. Many have replied by claiming they did feel at the time the team were set u slightly differently - Noone and Harris became the main targets in build up play and the back four played the ball out instead of hoofing it upfield immediately.
I can't say anything either way - I wasn't there so I can't be sure if they did indeed play differently. Can anyone else? Worth mentioning by different I don't mean better, they could still be rubbish just for a different reason

You mean they took it upon themselves to pass it than belt it? That would be an interesting development if so.
There was a 5 minute spell after Jones came on where the team proved they could pass, retain possession and control the game. It just didn't last long before they were belting long balls to the front two again.

I saw the story elsewhere too. The origin of the "information" which led to it is pretty flaky, so don't read too much into it.
