Not much more than Reading paid for him in the first place. If City are to have realistic promotion ambitions this year, then they will have to spend. Bargains are all very well, but should be regarded as a bonus.

Furthermore, shrewd dealings this summer have topped up the transfer kitty. We are still well in profit overall........and a bit more of the Cornelius loss has been recouped.

I think if this deal comes off,it shows a statement of intent, However I still aint positive about tomorrows game, Cardiff being cardiff we should win with huddlesfeild being unsettled, wouldnt be suprised if they sneak .

Morrison is an excellent signing. He is a very physical player but is much more composed on the ball than Turner or Huds. Deffo Prem quality unless he doesn't fulfill his potential.

To be precise......£62.1m television revenue from last season, £60m parachute payment and gross £24m from player sales, plus the PL wages for the big earners who have left.  To see £10 - 15m of that go into strengthening the squad with 10 new players seems reasonable.
