Campbell to go for peanuts?

If this story is to be believed, he might move on for a mere £800,000

Would be a darn shame if we lost him - especially at that price.

I agree. Campbell's attitude and workrate always seems spot on. We probably need a better 20-30 goal a season striker at the club if possible but in a squad game i would definitely keep him - especially at Championship level.

An escape clause......why?
Malky bought him at time when no-one wanted him and for real peanuts, but Campbell wasn't keen on the move, having turned City down the previous summer.........
Neverheless, I guess this is the price City have had to pay to attract anyone of quality. Good work Moody........(sorry Toastie!)

To be fair, although it would be a shame. I would be too disappointed if he goes - perhaps he might have done better in a team with more quality, but let's clear him and his wage bill out and give Mason another go.
Perhaps buy another proven goalscorer too, I read today that our parachute payment is a massive £64 mill - you have to hope that Tan will release some of that cash for the transfer kitty.

I would love to see McCormack back. He suffered last time because he and Chopra were too similar to play together.
I read somewhere recently that a deal had already been done for him to come back in the summer but that may have been reliant on us staying up.

McCormack certainly wasn't aware if there was, he took to twitter to voice his frustration in January. There wasn't much need to read between the lines to be able to se that he would of been all for signing for us if we had put an offer in, but we didn't.
Anyone else hear the rumour that Tan was ready to find a move for Loic Remy, but Malky turned it down and signed Cornelius instead? Can't remember where it came from mind.

Yes, believe that might've come from the Sport Bible, I think, but I definitely read the same last night. I'd love to have McCormack back but I can't see why he would move to us now we're back in the Championship - at that level, I'd say Leeds were a bigger club than us.
I said before, I'd tempt Leeds with a £7m bid for McCormack. Forget these fancy foreign strikers, let's get a man who we know will bag us 20 goals.
He's been made captain of Leeds now though and the fans love him, so can't see us getting him.
