Naughty Naughty Sunderland...

This is breaking news as I type it, so no indication as yet how the FA will react BUT should they actually have any balls at all and deduct points (which SHOULD be the punishment) instead of a fine then that should seal Sunderland's fate once and for all.

Leaves only our fate to be decided and I suspect that will hinge on a result on Saturday.

Oh dear...Hartlepool and Hereford were both deducted 3 points for fielding an ineligible player in 2010, both instances only relate to ONE match. Torquay were deducted 1 point for also fielding an ineligible player against Hereford in the same season. It all means that the precedent has been set...and all these clubs fielded the ineligible player for only one match.

In the four matches in which Ji played, Sunderland earned one point. So at the very least they should be deducted one point!

UN-BE-LIEV-ABLE.
Seriously?! The FA are so corrupt!
This is the whole qpr hoping-that-they'd-lose-points-but-they-didnt thing again isn't it?

Yup! Every other club in recent times - except QPR (and that was a bloody farce as well ) - who have fielded an ineligible player have been deducted points or been thrown out of the competition they were competing in.

I gave up hope on the FA ever doing their job properly about two months after I started watching football...

Update- the FA went easy because the premiership had screwed up by registering him in the first place. Sunderland were told by officials he could play, so i kind of agree now it would be unfair to give them a points deduction.

Well this sounds like a right farce.
Sunderland must have been pretty worried and fairly culpable though, they immediately terminated the contract of the club secretary after discovering the registration mistake

I have just noticed that no clubs raised any objections...
