If I was a United fan Id be far from happy. In the middle of a crisis where the team could miss out on European competition for the first time in decades, and one of our players who demands a transfer every window is bleeding the club dry.

Suarez is on a third of that, and I'd take three of him over one fat scouser who occasionally remembers how to play football.

It also sets a dangerous new precedent. If Wayne Rooney is worth 300K a week, how much is Gotze or Arjen Robben worth? How about Ibrahimovic or Ronaldo, or the golden chalice that is Messi?

If Rooney is worth 300K a week, Cristiano Ronaldo should be demanding a million pounds a week.

Yes it is Ludicrous amount of money, but nothing will change. if anything it will get higher and in a year or two someone will be on 500k a week,

I think Man Utd were in a tough spot. Rooney may not be worth £300k a week to most teams, but to them, I'd say he is.
Can you imagine the reaction from fans if, after such a sorry season, they then announce they're losing their 'star' player?

And who could they go and get to replace him? As you say, they may miss out on Europe, and that would put off a lot of players.
If I was Utd, I'd be looking to keep hold of him for now, in the hope that him being there could persuade others to join. Then, when I've got the signings I want, I'd sell him.

It's an obscene amount, I agree. I Can see why United have done it though - not just because there would be an outcry from their fans, but because it would also could about £45m to bring a player of his calibre in if he was to leave.

If you want to get really upset, Google how many millions his moronic wife has earned in endorsements from Asda, LG, Nike, etc.
